Hello you lovely lot!
Hope we’re all doing good and I just wanted to say a HUGE congratulations to the new RMW Real Brides. I loved reading through all your love stories and wedding ideas and can’t wait to follow your wedding journey’s (I am blatantly still going to be hanging around like a bad smell once I’m a wife!)
Panic, Panic, Everybody Panic!
So although on the outside I might like to appear like everything is under control and going smoothly (I hope!), I simply cannot lie to you lovely lot. Panic has well and truly set in!
I switch from intense excitement and anticipation to willing the clocks to stand still for just a few minutes to give me just a little more time to make my silly silly pinwheels (seriously why didn’t you lot tell me what a bad idea they were!) on an hourly basis.
I’ve also realised that this is my penultimate post *sad face* and there’s so much I still haven’t shared, so here goes a quick rundown…
Paper Fancies
Invites are…done! Just like Kitty and Becca, the very gorgeous RMW Real Bride Hannah designed our invites for us and if I do say so myself they are ruddy lovely!
Hannah also has a shiny lovely website if you fancy a gander…
Massive Lacy Balls
So I thought it was about time I came clean about what the actual heck I am doing with all those lace doilies (if anyone actually remembers them?)
So I haven’t actually finished them yet but these are my giant lacy balls…
In theory they will be as easy as pie but in practise…not so much! Fingers crossed they look as beautiful as they do here though.
If you too are slightly bonkers and would like to make these all you will need is some huge round balloons (mine are 15”), some lace doilies (some of ours will also be made out of netting) and some fabric stiffener.
You overlap the doilies over the balloon, leaving a small gap at the top, and then cover the whole thing in the fabric stiffener. Then you leave overnight to dry and finally in the morning, pop the balloon and pull it out!
My Something Blue
I do love a man in a blue suit and especially my man in a blue suit.
Chris’ gone for a Reiss suit, using their personal tailoring service, which we’d really recommend!
All I know is that it’s blue…it’s going to be a complete surprise on the day and I simply cannot wait to see him standing at the end of that aisle, it’s gives me butterflies just thinking about it!
BUT…I am a very lucky girl in that I have two ‘Something Blues’!!!
This will be my most prized possession on my wedding day, next to my new shiny wedding ring. Not only is it my ‘something blue’, it’s also my ‘something borrowed’ and my ‘something old’.
You see, this bracelet was given by my Pops to my Nanny in the run up to their wedding, he bought it from an antique jewellery shop in Nottingham and it contains diamonds and blue sapphires.
I will be forever grateful to my Nanny for letting me wear it on my wedding day, I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I tear up just thinking about it. My Pops is no longer with us and it will be such an honour to carry a little piece of him down the aisle with me.
Plus look how beeeeautiful it is!!
A letter of thanks to my girls
So the moment I realised that this thing had just got real was on the eve of my hen do!
Last weekend my best girls and I headed to Bath, and to say it was epic would be an absolute understatement.
It was all a complete surprise, I had no idea where I was going but thanks to my Mum and my lovely bridesmaids, it was the perfect weekend and the best send off into married life I could have asked for!
I won’t lie, I was really nervous! Not about what they had planned, I knew they’d plan something amazing. But I’m not really one for being centre of attention and it’s a lot of pressure to have ‘the best weekend ever’, but it was just that…the BEST WEEKEND EVER!
We stayed in the most stunning house… The Admiral’s House. My chin must have hit the floor when I saw it! It was the perfect location
We went to the Thermae Bath Spa which was so incredibly relaxing and then a midnight feast prepared by my girlies!
The Saturday saw a massive fry up, shopping in Bath’s antique and vintage shops and the most incredible afternoon tea I have ever seen. My girls baked so many cakes and had gone to so much trouble, I felt truly truly special!
That was then followed by cocktails, naughty games, dancing to 90s pop (5ive, 911, Spice Girls and Take That made large appearances) and then a night out in Bath, causing havoc in our wake!
I thought I’d share some photos with you but if I’m honest I struggled to find any that were publishable, so here is just a small selection
Thank you to all my lovely ladies, you did me proud! I was completely blown away by how well you know me and by how much effort you all put in. I love you all millions and I can’t wait to share my big day with you all!
Songs To Bust Some Moves To
So in conclusion, I’ve had a pretty good month (despite the stress!)
One thing that is still on our long to do list is choosing songs for our playlist.
So yet again I am going to call upon your expert advice and ask you…what is that one song that will, without fail, get you up on the dance floor?
Because as well as becoming husband and wife on the 6th July we want to throw the most kick ass party for our friends and family!
Can’t wait to hear all your suggestions
Lots of love and *we’re nearly there* hugs!
