I love this wedding.
Fact.
Billie and HB got married in France. A stunning venue with gorgeous views and a very special ceremony. One like I’ve never seen before.
I also have serious statement necklace envy. Billie’s look is one of my favourites of the year so far. I love a quick change up for the evening do (cue said statement necklace). And the bridesmaids! A beautiful sea of ivory goddesses. Oouff. Ruddy gorgeous.
Billie The Bride: HB and I got married at my Mum and step-dad’s house in the Pyrenees in France. It was somewhere that I had spent time as a child, and had fond memories of. The views are amazing and despite us having some rain the day was mainly bright and glorious.
Subtle But Smokey
My friend is great with hair and so she id my hair on the day. I did my own make up. I wanted to keep it quite soft with a subtle but smokey eye.
Sky High
My dress was from Emma Victoria Payne Bespoke. I was absolutely thrilled with it. It could be tied in two ways to give me a day and an evening look. Sort of two dresses in one! It was so fun to be able to change it up a little bit. I teamed it with a statement necklace, a matching hairpiece and some super sky high heels.
I wore a veil during the ceremony and then took it off when I changed my dress straps for the wedding breakfast to totally transform the look.
Clean And Fresh
My beautiful bridemaids all wore dresses from Maids to Measure. They were all ivory but slightly different styles. I wanted to keep the look of the day very white and clean and fresh and the dresses worked perfectly.
HB looked amazing. He and the groomsmen wore a deep blue suit. HB had a wasitcoat with his to make him stand apart a little. The brown belts and shoes really complimented the colour of the suits and he looked very handsome waiting for me at the foot of the aisle.
White
The colour scheme was white. Lots of white. From the bridesmaids dresses to the flowers and chairs. We used lots of Gypsophela to create a soft look and also had white roses and fresias. The flowers were all from a local florist in the village of Salies du salet.
Very Special
There is only one wedding celebrant in the whole town where we got married. He performed a Budhist inspired ceremony for us. Buddhists believe that marriage is based on deep mutual respect between the couple and that the union should be a mix of differing strengths and abilities from the man and woman. It was very special.
Keeping It In the Family
My brother and his band provided the evenings entertainment. The dance floor was packed all night. It was such a great party!
A Few Moments Away
A favourite part of the day for us was stepping outside following the ceremony, by ourselves, in the rain and taking a couple of moments to absorb what had just happened. Our photographer Eliza captured it from afar and the photo of HB punching the air really makes me smile!

If I was HB, I’d be punching the air too! What a gorgeous bride. The ‘two ways to wear the dress’ thing is amazing. I love the idea of having a different look for day and night. And how about that necklace?? Told you it was immense didn’t I.
Are any of you going statement with your jewwellery?
