Lets stay together

Teresa and Alun married in July last year. Teresa wore a stunning Belle and Bunty gown and her mismatched maids looked incredible.

The flowers are to die for. And it was all beautifully captured by Sara Thomas.

One Historic Venue

Teresa The Bride: Alun and I married at St Michael’s Church in Framlingham and we held our reception at Butley Priory. Butley Priory is a 14th Century Monastery and is set in beautiful grounds. The house is privately owned and has a wonderful atmosphere. You feel very much at home when you’re there.

The Belle

My dress was ‘The Belle’ and made by the talented ladies at Belle and Bunty. The dress is so delicate and suited the feel of the venue down to a tee. I felt so graceful in it walking through the grounds.

Something Borrowed

I wore very little in the way of accessories. I wore just a necklace which was very simple and my ‘something borrowed’ from a bridesmaid. The dress didn’t really need anything else. I wore my hair down with simple plaits to keep it off my face. I wanted to maintain a very natural look.

We had a lot of fun on the morning of the wedding. We all did our own make-up…with a little bit of help from Bobbi Brown. We were all really pleased with the quality of the products, they were a great investment.

The bridesmaids were all dressed in neutral tones and they looked amazing. They all picked dresses from the highstreet and complimented each other perfectly. The boys hired grey suits from Jo Mclaren in Twickenham.

Blooms

Keeping the colour palette quite neutral in terms of my bridesmaids, I really wanted to make a statement with my flowers and have something that would ‘pop’. The effect I wanted was for them to be fairly wild and all locally sourced. My bouquet was made up of stocks, peonies, sweet peas, cornflowers, daisies, phlox and lemon mint. It smelt divine.

We lined the pews of the church with small sprays of the flowers as well and they looked gorgeous.

Natural

We chose Sara Thomas to capture our day. Sarah does a pre wedding shoot as well as coverage on the day which was great. We really loved her natural style!

Naked Chocolate

Our cake was from Crumb. They are so passionate about cakes. I wanted a naked chocolate cake and was thrilled with the end results. They included fresh fruit on the cake as well as flowers. It was gorgeous.

Crumb also made our favours for us, they were biscuits in the shape of a love heart with the date of our wedding on them.

Lets Stay Together

We had a string quartet in the day which was amazing. The sun shone and they played beautiful classical pieces for us. We then had a DJ provide the evening entertainment. Our first dance was to Al Green, Lets Stay Together. We chose it simply because it’s just a lovely song.

How about those flowers? Pretty gorgeous aren’t they.

The Belle and Bunty gown is spectacular, so elegant and perfect for the location.

Also loving the naked chocolate cake…anyone else having one of these? It’s a great twist on the usual naked Victoria sponge.
